About The Oasis

What is The Oasis?

The Oasis is a self-care system, music library, and AI companion built into one dashboard. It's designed for people who give a lot to everyone else — nurses, teachers, entrepreneurs, parents, executives — and forget to refill their own cup.

Instead of being one more thing on your list, it's a coordinator that uses what it learns about you to recommend the right reset, the right song, the right journal prompt at the right moment.

Who is The Oasis for?

Anyone who pours more out than they pour back in. We started building it for nurses, but the framework works for anyone whose role demands ongoing emotional labor — teachers, therapists, founders, caregivers, parents, professionals carrying heavy loads.

You don't have to be in crisis to use it. Most members come in feeling "fine but flat" and use The Oasis to keep that from sliding into burnout.

What makes this different from a meditation app?

Meditation apps hand you a library and a calendar and let you figure out the rest. The Oasis works the other way around — it builds a picture of you first (your role, your archetype, your F.L.O.W. scores, your behaviors), then recommends what you actually need.

The deeper distinction is Kara. You can't have a conversation with a meditation app. You can with Kara — and she remembers what you've told her.

Is The Oasis a replacement for therapy?

No. The Oasis is a self-care system, not a therapy service. Kara is an AI companion — she's not a licensed therapist, doctor, or nurse, and nothing she says is medical or psychological advice.

If you're working with a therapist, The Oasis is a great between-sessions companion. If you're in crisis, please call or text 988 (in the U.S.) or your local emergency services.

Kara (Your AI Companion)

Quick clarification: Kara is an AI. She's powered by a large language model and trained to act as a self-care coordinator inside The Oasis. She is not a real person, not a licensed clinician, and not able to provide medical advice.
Who is Kara?

Kara is your self-care companion inside The Oasis. She knows your archetype, your F.L.O.W. scores, your journal patterns, and your calendar (depending on your tier), and uses that context to give you grounded, specific recommendations instead of generic wellness advice.

Think of her as the friend who happens to remember everything you've told her and never forgets to check in.

What can I talk to Kara about?

Anything you'd talk to a thoughtful friend about: a hard day, a decision you're weighing, a pattern you've noticed, a goal you're working on, a feeling you can't quite name. She's especially good at:

  • Building you a tiny, doable plan when overwhelm is the obstacle
  • Helping you decode what your body is signaling
  • Recommending the right music, tool, or reset for the moment
  • Reflecting back what she's hearing so you can think clearly
Does Kara remember our previous conversations?

Yes. Every message you send and every reply Kara gives is saved so the conversation can continue meaningfully across sessions. The more you talk to her, the more context she has to draw on.

You can request a copy or deletion of your conversation history at any time — see our Privacy Policy.

Does Kara know everything about me from day one?

No, and that's a feature. Kara starts with what you share during onboarding — your name, role, archetype, and how you're "arriving" today — and gets smarter about you over time as you use the app, journal, log wins, and have conversations.

There's a "Kara Intelligence Score" that grows as she learns more about you. The richer your data, the more tailored her responses become.

Is what I tell Kara private?

Yes. Your conversations are stored securely and are not used to train AI models or shared with advertisers. They're processed by our AI provider (Anthropic) to generate Kara's replies, then saved to your account.

The one exception: if Kara detects language suggesting active crisis (intent to harm yourself or others), the conversation is flagged in our system so we can route safety resources. Full details in our Privacy Policy.

How many messages can I send Kara?

It depends on your tier:

  • Foundation: 5 messages per week
  • Integration: Unlimited messages, plus Kara can see your journal and calendar
  • Transformation: Unlimited messages, plus Kara knows your Self-Care System and updates it when you ask

Your Path & F.L.O.W.

What is "Your Path"?

Your Path is the archetype you've chosen — the way you're showing up to self-care work right now. We use five:

  • The Overwhelmed Achiever — high-output, can't slow down
  • The Always-On Empath — absorbing everyone else's weight
  • The Stretched Builder — pouring into a vision until you're empty
  • The Quiet Rebuilder — recovering from something heavy
  • The Untethered Seeker — sensing it's time but not sure what's next

You can switch your Path any time from the menu. There's a sixth path — Becoming You — coming soon as our flagship transformation arc.

What is the F.L.O.W. Chart?

F.L.O.W. stands for Focus, Love, Organize, Wellness — the four pillars we use to map where you're thriving and where you're leaking energy. You build your chart by answering a short series of questions, and the result is a personal scorecard that drives what Kara recommends.

You can rebuild it any time — most people retake it monthly or after any life change.

What is the Self-Care System (SCS)?

Your Self-Care System is a personalized document — built specifically for you — that maps anchor habits, recovery rituals, and trigger-based routines to your actual schedule, goals, and obstacles. It's the prescription that comes after the F.L.O.W. Chart's diagnosis.

It includes a snapshot of your self-care type, a 4-week schedule organized around your real rhythm (not generic clock times), and an illustrated cover generated from photos you provide.

Anyone can get the document as a $149 add-on. Transformation members get it included, with Kara working from it — she knows your SCS and updates it when you ask.

Features

How does the music library work?

The Oasis Music is a curated library of tracks designed to settle a busy nervous system. Press play on the dashboard for a sample. Integration members unlock the full library, category filters (Calming, Focus, Sleep, Zen, etc.), and the queue panel.

Music streams over Wi-Fi or cellular, and we cache tracks locally after first play so they keep working even if your phone falls asleep or your signal drops.

What is the Wins Wall?

A place to log anything you got right today — big or small. Each win triggers a brief themed animation that matches your current background. Over time, your wins become some of the most important signal Kara has about who you are when you're showing up well.

What's in the Self-Care Toolkit?

Four nervous-system reset tools you can do in under five minutes:

  • Physiological Sigh — fastest way to down-regulate
  • 5-4-3-2-1 Grounding — bring yourself back into the present
  • Body Scan + Release — find and unclench what's holding tension
  • 2-Minute Meditations — guided micro-sessions

Available on Integration and above.

How do background themes work?

The Oasis ships with 25+ background themes, each with day and night palettes that switch automatically based on time of day. Pick one from the menu and the entire dashboard — including your win celebrations — adopts that aesthetic.

Your selected theme is remembered in your browser, so it persists across visits.

Can I journal in The Oasis?

Yes — Integration members and above have an in-dashboard journal. Entries are saved securely and Kara can reference them in conversation so her recommendations stay grounded in what you've actually written.

Pricing & Billing

How much does The Oasis cost?

We offer three tiers — Foundation, Integration, and Transformation — at monthly and annual price points. There's also a 7-day trial for new members.

For current prices, see our Pricing page.

What's the difference between the tiers?

Foundation — Music sampler, F.L.O.W. Chart, Wins Wall, 5 Kara messages per week.

Integration — Where you get the system. Full music library, Self-Care Toolkit, Journal, unlimited Kara, and calendar integration. Your personalized Self-Care System document is a $149 add-on.

Transformation — Where you run the system. Everything in Integration plus your Self-Care System document with Kara working from it, the Deep Dive courses, the Becoming You progress tracker, and a 1:1 strategy call with Ray.

How does the 7-day trial work?

Start the trial through our pricing link and you get full access for 7 days. We bill at the end of the trial unless you cancel before it ends. You can cancel at any time from your account.

How do I cancel?

Email ray@myselfcare.studio and we'll handle it within one business day. We're working on a self-serve cancel flow — for now, a quick email is the fastest path.

Can I upgrade or downgrade later?

Yes. Upgrades take effect immediately. Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing cycle so you don't lose access you've already paid for.

Account & Data

Where is my data stored?

Your account and content live in Airtable (journal entries, wins, F.L.O.W. submissions, Kara conversations). Your payment info is handled by FastPayDirect — we never see or store full card details. Our site is hosted on Netlify. Full breakdown in our Privacy Policy.

Do you sell my data?

No. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We don't run third-party ads inside The Oasis. The Service is paid for entirely by member subscriptions.

Can I export or delete my data?

Yes. You can request an export of your journal entries and F.L.O.W. data in a portable format, or full deletion of your account. Email ray@myselfcare.studio and we'll respond within 30 days.

How do I change my name, email, or password?

Right now, account-level changes are handled by emailing ray@myselfcare.studio. A self-serve account settings page is on the roadmap.

App / PWA Install

Is there an Oasis app in the App Store?

The Oasis is a Progressive Web App (PWA), not a native iOS or Android app. You install it directly from your browser — no app store, no download — and it lives on your home screen exactly like a native app.

Practical advantages: instant updates (no app-store review), no storage hit, no separate sign-in.

How do I install The Oasis on my phone?

On Android (Chrome): Open the site, tap the three-dot menu, and choose Install app or Add to Home Screen.

On iPhone (Safari): Open the site, tap the Share button, and choose Add to Home Screen.

After installing, launch it from your home screen and it opens in its own window — no browser bars.

The installed app shows a generic icon — not the palm tree. How do I fix it?

This usually means the app installed as a regular browser bookmark instead of a true PWA. Try this:

  • Delete the icon from your home screen.
  • Open the site again in Chrome (Android) or Safari (iPhone).
  • Wait until the page is fully loaded before installing.
  • On Android, look for the "Install app" prompt at the bottom of Chrome or in the three-dot menu — that's the PWA install. The plain "Add to Home Screen" creates a bookmark.

Still seeing a Chrome icon? Email ray@myselfcare.studio with your phone model and browser and we'll help debug.

Will it work offline?

Music tracks you've already played are cached locally and continue to work without a signal. The rest of the dashboard (journal, Kara, wins, F.L.O.W. submissions) needs an internet connection to save your work to the cloud.

Troubleshooting

The music stops playing when my screen turns off.

This was a known Android Chrome behavior we worked around with a service worker that caches audio locally. If music still cuts out on a locked screen:

  • Make sure you've played each track at least once so it's in the local cache.
  • Check that battery optimization isn't aggressive on the browser (Android Settings → Apps → Chrome → Battery → "Unrestricted").
  • Reload the dashboard so the latest service worker is active.
The colors look wrong in Samsung Internet.

Samsung Internet has a "Dark mode" web setting that overrides site colors. Open Samsung Internet, tap the three-line menu → Settings → Useful features → Dark mode → set to Off (not Auto). Reload The Oasis and the cream/sage palette should look right.

I can't find a feature I used to see.

Some features are tier-gated. If you've downgraded or your trial has ended, certain cards (journal, full music library, toolkit) may be hidden. Check your tier on the Pricing page or email ray@myselfcare.studio.

If you're sure your tier is right and something is still missing, that's a bug — please let us know.

How do I retake the F.L.O.W. Chart?

Tap the F.L.O.W. Chart card on your dashboard, then tap the "Build Chart" or refresh action in the corner. Your previous chart is preserved in your history so Kara can see how your scores have changed over time.

Kara isn't responding / I'm getting an error.

If Kara's reply doesn't come back, try sending one more message — most failures are transient. If it persists:

  • Check that you're online.
  • Verify you haven't hit the Foundation weekly cap (5 messages).
  • Reload the dashboard.

Still stuck? Email ray@myselfcare.studio with the time and a rough description and we'll dig in.

I have a question that isn't here.

Email ray@myselfcare.studio. Real human reply, usually within a day.

Still got questions?

Ask Kara directly — that's what she's here for.
